Buhari mourns late business icon Ibru

07 September 2016, 21:37

Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has extended condolences to the family of late businessman and traditional chieftain, Michael Ibru, who passed away on Tuesday.

He died aged 85 from an undisclosed ailment.

Buhari consoled the deceased’s family and the Delta State.

“The President joins them in mourning an accomplished businessman whose edifying role in the corporate world and private sector in Nigeria would continue to inspire generations to come,” a presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, said Wednesday.

He said Buhari believes Ibru will be long remembered for his hard work and dedication to entrepreneurship, which opened doors of opportunities to many Nigerians and associates who came in contact with his investments in the banking, aviation, tourism and manufacturing sectors.

Buhari urged members of his family to honour his memory by constantly upholding the values of selfless-service, inter-ethnic harmony, knowledge and perseverance, which he passionately promoted through his successful career in the private sector.

“The President prays that God Almighty will grant his soul eternal rest,” Adesina.
