Buhari moves to pacify Tinubu

29 December 2016, 09:34

Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has begun moves to pacify the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC0, Bola Tinubu.

The move according to Sun is seen as a way of ending the internal crisis between him and Tinubu, and to prevent the APC from losing the 2019 general elections.

Buhari's move will see him reshuffling his cabinet to accommodate Tinubu's loyalists.

The cabinet reshuffle will affect Ondo, Kogi and Lagos whereby Tinubu ‘s loyalists will be appointed as the new ministers in the affected states.

It was also gathered that Buhari would also relieve some of his top associates of their jobs in 2017.

A top source in the Presidency specifically said appointees indicted or tainted with allegations of graft “would be shown the door and it will be sooner than later.”

The sack, it was learnt, may be before the end of the first quarter of 2017.

Reacting to this development, however, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, told Daily Sun yesterday that he was not aware of any cabinet shake-up, “If any cabinet reshuffle is to be carried out, it will be made public.”
