Buhari not in the mould of Obasanjo... has little understanding of Nigeria, says Akintola

14 June 2016, 11:03

Lagos - Renowned legal practitioner Adeniyi Akintola (SAN) has opined that President Muhammadu Buhari lacks an understanding of Nigeria and will not implement the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference, Naij reports.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who said former president Goodluck Jonathan was not sincere enough to make some implementation of the confab report, added that there was great need for Nigeria to operate a federal system of government.

A previous News24 report indicated that Jonathan had at one time urged Buhari not to discard the report of the 2014 National Conference.

“Of course, he has been Head of State before, he has been governor, he has been a minister but he still doesn’t understand the complexity of the structure. He isn’t in the mould of an Obasanjo or a Babangida. Even when you look at his exposure and administrative style, it is a style that is patterned after his military background.” Akintola said.
