Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC to intensify the rate of crude oil exploration activities in the north eastern parts of the country, Vanguard reports.

Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru while lamenting the economic state that Nigeria finds itself in, confirmed that President Buhari had instructed him to increase exploration of crude oil.
Baru also hit out at the continued vandalism of oil installations, saying that it made it difficult for the corporation to reach its financial obligations to the country.
