Budget padding: Buhari removes 184 top officials

Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has removed 184 top officials from the budget office and redeployed them over their roles in the padding of the 2016 national budget.

According to a Naij report, 22 to officials from the budget office of the federation will be deployed while the rest will be moved to other ministries, departments and agencies.

In addition, 14 new directors will be moved into the vacant positions following testing in order to ascertain whether they are fit for the jobs.

According to the directive, which was issued through the head of service at the federation, all affected officers were ordered to report to their new posts on or before the close of work yesterday (March 10).

The development follows on from Buhari's promise to deal with all culprits who had a hand in the padding of the 2016 national budget, causing the country and Government widespread embarrassment in the process.
