Buhari threatens to deal with Niger Delta militants

Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has threatened to deal decisively with Niger Delta militants who are currently attacking oil installations in the South-south region of the country, reports Premium Times.

Buhari, who was speaking on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirate, noted that the activities of oil thieves and vandals would soon be brought to an end.

He stated that the military is battle ready to face the militants and stop their criminal activities.

The President noted that the activities of these militants are less problematic compared to the Boko Haram insurgency.

The militants have lately stepped- up their activities by attacking attacking oil installations in the Niger Delta and major oil depots in the South-West.

Buhari also warned telecommunication companies operating in Nigeria not to place their desire for huge profits above the security needs of the country.
