Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari says he will attend the inauguration of President Roch Marc Christian Kabore of Burkina Faso on Dec. 29.

The president confirmed this development at a joint press briefing with the Interim President of Burkina Faso, Michel Kafando, after their closed door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.

He said that his decision to witness the event followed a special invitation extended to him by the out-going interim president.

"I congratulated (Michel Kafando) him personally for conducting free, fair and credible elections."
