Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has moved to set up a presidential committee to look into pro-Biafra groups, in the face of a growing agitation to recognise Biafra as a sovereign state, Naij reports.

Buhari has ordered the committee to take a particular look into the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, and the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
Following a meeting with government officials, Buhari made the decision to set up the committee that included retired military, police and other security personnel to eradicate the threat posed by the pro-Biafra groups.
News24 Nigeria reported that President Buhari declared that there would be no realisation of Biafra as a sovereign state under his administration.
Criticizing efforts made by agitation groups such as IPOB, Buhari warned that it would be better for the whole country to commit mass murder than to allow Biafrans to succeed in their plans of separation.
