Abuja - News broke on Friday of Army Chief Tukur Buratai owning property in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) which was bought through one transaction, Naij reports.
According to multiple reports, allegations would lead to many believing that Buratai had accumulated funds for the purchase of the home through a suspicious vehicle contract at the time when Buratai was functioning as the Army's Director of Procurement.
The vehicles mentioned in the contract relate to cars and motorcycles meant for the use of Operation Lafiya Dole in the fight against Boko Haram in the country.
Despite officials having rubbished the claims and stated that Buratai obtained the his wealth before his tenure as Army Chief, the news has infuriated Nigerian citizens who have since called for the Chief's resignation.
