Client of prophetess rapes 7 year old daughter

01 June 2016, 07:46

Abuja - Members of the Igbogbo community in Ikorodu, Lagos have been left in a state of shock after a 7-year-old girl revealed how she was raped by her mother's client while the prophetess stepped out to go to the market.

According to Vanguard, the victim's mother returned home to find her daughter, still in school uniform at the time, bleeding and distraught.

The suspect, identified as Moruf Mohammed, claimed that his heinous crime was an act of the devil, while denying that he had any carnal knowledge of the little girl.

When questioned about N1,000 that he was alleged to have given the victim in return for his satisfaction, Mohammed claimed that he had given the child the money in exchange for her mother's service and not as a means to keep her quiet.

The girl's mother has claimed that her child positively identified Mohammed as her assailant, with tests revealing that she had indeed been sexually abused.

The case has since been transferred to the Ikorodu Gender Unit for further investigation.
