Commercial sex worker found dead in Lagos hotel

Abuja - The body of a commercial sex worker has been discovered in a hotel in the Oshodi LGA of Lagos State, Punch reports.

The deceased, identified only as Precious, is believed to have been strangled to death and subsequently left in the patron's hotel room.

After a hotel cleaner made the grizzly discovery, the matter was reported to officials while the corpse has since been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital morgue, where it awaits identification by the deceased's relatives.

Speaking under condition of anonymity, a hotel worker reported that deceased was suspected to have been strangled using either rope of clothes, adding that the patron believed to have committed the crime fled the scene before he was caught.

The case has since been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation in Yaba, where the investigation remains ongoing.
