Abuja - The residents of River State have been left in shock following the murder of five police officers, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police, in the Ahoada West LGA.
According to a Naij report, six civilians were also alleged to have been killed when rampaging gunmen attacked officers with the purpose of stealing rifles.

DSP Ahmad Muhammad, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police, has confirmed the massacre, saying that the ambush took place last week Monday, Vanguard reports.
“The tragedy again demonstrates the enormous calamities witnessed in the course of our job. We put our lives on the line everyday to confront crime and violence in our communities. We will stop at nothing to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to justice,” he said.
