The party shared its displeasure at the notion by the Rivers State Information and Communications Commissioner, Austin Tam-George, that linked Ameachi to the comments by UK Prime Minister, David Cameron that Nigeria is fantastically corrupt.
The APC says that this shows that the commissioner is still bitter at the refusal of a favour by Amaechi, when governor.
The party strongly denied that there were any connection between the comments and Amaechi.
The former Rivers State Governor is accused of corruption to the amount of N3 trillion.
