Cultists kill four, shoot 2 year old in Lagos community

01 August 2016, 21:40

Abuja - Pandemonium reigned in the Ikorodu LGA of Lagos State on Friday when militants invaded the area, killing four people in the process.

According to a Punch report, a six-man gang arrived in the Igbogbo community on Friday night, killing a native doctor who was crossing their path before shooting his wife and two-year-old daughter.

Despite their wounds, the duo survived the attack.

Shortly thereafter, the militants are reported to have set their targets on two other members of the community, shooting them and injuring scores more in the process.

A resident related to one of the deceased, who spoke on condition of anonymity, claimed that the gang was on a reprisal attack and shot residents out of frustration when they failed to locate their desired targets.

SP Dolapo Badmos, PR Officer for the Lagos State Police, has since confirmed the deaths, adding that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack.
