#Dasukigate: Falae details how he spent N100m received from Anenih

10 January 2016, 09:04

Abuja – Former secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, has reportedly detailed how the N100m he received from a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, Tony Anenih, was spent.

According to Premium Times, the money was part of at least $2.1 billion allegedly diverted by former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki, from arms purchase to politicians.

Dasuki himself is currently facing charges over the misappropriation over the over $2b meant for the purchase of arms for the Nigerian military to fight the war against the Boko Haram insurgency.

Falae received the money from Anenih ahead of the 2015 elections.

“It is true I received the money for the party and then it was distributed to the state branches of the party for onward distribution to other levels of the party,” Falae was quoted as saying.

This comes as President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to get tough on corruption in the country.
