Dasuki’s bid to stop trial suffers setback

05 April 2016, 10:06

Abuja - The trial of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki on Monday suffered a setback as a Federal High Court in Abjua adjourned sitting on the case indefinitely.

The court was supposed to rule on Dasuki’s application to stop his trial.

Sambo is facing corruption charges that were preferred against him by the federal government.

The case was listed on the cause list of the court on Monday, but the judge hearing the case, Justice Adeniyi Ademola did not appear.

The court said new date would be communicated to the parties.

At the hearing of the application on March 3, Dasuki urged the court to stop his trial until the government complied with its order granting him bail.

After listening to Dasuki’s pleas, the court fixed April 4, for ruling on the application.

Dasuki is facing a four-count charge of money laundering and illegal possession of firearms brought against him by the Department of State Services (DSS).
