Oyo - Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has signed into law a bill stating kidnappers will face the death penalty when prosecuted, Punch reported.
According to reports, the law has been agreed on the sense that kidnapping attracts the death sentence in the event of the death of the kidnapped victim while in the custody of the abductors.
The bill was passed by the House of Assembly following a submission.

The new law states that a convicted kidnapper will be liable to life imprisonment is the victim is released unhurt and will be made to pay back the ransom.
