Abuja - Governor Ifeanyi Okowa said the
enactment of the Health Insurance Commission (DSHIC) bill into law will ensure
easy access to health-care by the citizens.
He said this was part of the administration's agenda to
ensure the good health of citizens.
He said the DSHIC would culminate in the provision of
contributory health insurance scheme for all citizens.

“The world is talking about universal health coverage and I think that we are on the
right track in Nigeria and we need greater cooperation among us all,"
The governor added that the state government was mindful
of the fact that there was nothing better than good health.
He emphasised there would be different levels in
the Delta scheme, which include the organised private sector, public sector,
informal sector and the vulnerable.
