Abuja - Nine youngsters from the Degema Local
Government Area of the Rivers State have completed a Graduate Engineering professional
course thanks to a gesture of goodwill by Deputy Governor, Ipalibo Harry
Banigo said the training was in line with fulfillment of
her electioneering promise to develop the capacity of youths in the area.
She said the training was designed to equip the young
engineering graduates with necessary skills that would enable them to be
gainfully employed and contribute their quota to societal growth.
Receiving the Trainees who were on a visit to
congratulate her on her appointment, in Government House, Port Harcourt, Banigo
expressed satisfaction over the performance of the trainees and assured that
she would assist some of them in securing job in public and private

“The training was to enhance the engineering skill of the
youths and give them greater career opportunities,” Banigo said.
She urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the
skills acquired during the programme and commended them for taking the training
Banigo called on other youths in the state to emulate the
fighting spirit of the graduates.
“I have no doubt that with the certificate, you will get
employment and be beneficial to society,” Banigo said.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Diyedimbo
Gillis Harry, thanked the Deputy Governor for the opportunity given them to
excel in their chosen profession.He said they were in her office to present their
certificates and appreciates her for the sponsorship.
