Abuja - Embattled House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara has allegedly snubbed an invitation bestowed upon him by the Special Investigation Panel of the Police.
According to a Naij report, the Panel was tasked with looking into allegations of budget padding posed against the Speaker by former Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin.
The Speaker, who has denied his involvement in the budget padding scandal, is said to have ignored the invitation due to the letter missing the signature of Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

Jibrin is reported to have appeared before the panel on last week Friday and Tuesday, August 9, to allegedly submit evidence backing up his claims against Dogara and several other principal officers, Punch reports.
A source close to the panel has since kicked back at Dogara's reasoning, saying that his shunning of the invitation was not tenable and that any member of the panel was welcomed to sign the letter.
