Dogara mourns passing of Oyo monarch

21 January 2016, 07:58

Abuja - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has expressed sadness over the death of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade 1.

Dogara extended his condolences to the family of the deceased monarch, the people of Ibadan and Oyo State as a whole.

He noted that though the late revered monarch could be said to have lived to a ripe old age, his death was  a loss to Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria as his wise counsel could no longer be sought in matters related to moving the nation forward.

The Speaker prayed God to grant the late monarch eternal rest and his family the fortitude to bear the big loss.
