Abuja - Reports have surfaced regarding the arrest of a man identified as Ibrahim Babangida, as announced by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to Naij, the man was nabbed at the border for attempted theft, criminal breach of trust, conspiracy and impersonation, along with accomplices operating under the names Murtala Mohammed and Nairu Isa.

Isa is said to have joined the anti-graft agency 18 months ago but is actually a member of a crime syndicate that attempted to burgle a property that had previously been sealed off by EFCC operatives, before carting away goods that were contained inside.

A third accomplice in the matter, whose name has not been released, is said to have been the mastermind behind the theft plot, Premium Times reports.
