Abuja - The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission earlier today rejected the request by the embattled National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, to travel to the United Kingdom to receive treatment, Vanguard reports.

Metuh, who is facing seven charges of fraud, to the amount of N400 million pleaded in his request to the court to grant him permission to travel to the Royal London Hospital to take care of his deteriorating health.
In his request he urged the court to grant him a five-week stay and to release his passport.
Courts usually restrict individuals from leaving the country when they deem them to be a flight risk, where they would flee the country to avoid being prosecuted.
