EFCC probes deeper into Jonathan's campaign funds

31 March 2016, 06:34

Abuja - Supporters of former President Goodluck Jonathan have found themselves in hot water after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) claimed that it had traced N320 million to the account of the Goodluck Support Group.

According to a Naij report, the group, which is a coalition of campaign groups in support of Jonathan, had sourced the funds from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and had distributed the money to over 100 pro-Jonathan groups headed by Jonathan's Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Rufai Alkali.

The money is alleged to have been channeled through the account of the Ministry of External Affairs Library before being moved to the Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Limited (JTDNL).

The JTDNL is said to have been coordinated by Director of Finance for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organization, Nenadi Usman.
