Lagos - The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday re-arraigned former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu before the Federal High Court in Lagos over alleged fraud.
He was docked on a 34-count charge over an alleged diversion of about N3.2bn from the Abia State Government’s treasury during his tenure as governor, reports Punch
Kalu was governor of the state from 1999- 2003.

He and others were initially arraigned in 2007 before Justice Adamu Bello of the Federal High Court, Abuja (now retired).
News 24 recalls that Kalu had gone to the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court to challenge his arraignment.
The Supreme Court, however, ruled that Kalu must submit himself for trial
