Lagos - Five persons were confirmed dead and 15 others injured in an accident on Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sallah day, Nation reports.
The accident, which occurred at about 4p.m. at Ogunmakin, near the Total gas station, involved a Mazda bus marked KSF477XK and a Mitsubishi car with registration number MUS639DK.
The accident was said to have caused gridlock on the expressway, as the vehicles involved were said to have blocked the road.
Four males and a female were among the deceased.
It took the intervention of officials of Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to evacuate the vehicles and normalise traffic flow.
Two people allegedly lost their lives in two separate incidents on Monday during the Sallah celebration in Lagos according to News24.
According to Naij, one of the deceased was killed following a drinking spree while the other died in a hit-and-run accident.
