Abuja - No less than eight people have been crushed to death following an accident on Ilaje Road in the Bariga LGA of Lagos State.
The incident is alleged to have occurred just moments after a yet-to-be identified woman took the wheel of a LandCruiser SUV near the Majok Filling Station.
According to a Punch report, the vehicle is said to have surged forward, crushing four people in its path and killing them instantly.
Two other people were reported to have passed and were transported to a nearby facility with nine citizens who had sustained injuries in the incident. Another seven injured people were later recovered from the scene.
Following the accident on Sunday night, two more corpses were recovered from the gutter on Sunday morning.

The incident is said to have incensed residents in the area, with youths racing to the scene to pull the suspect from her vehicle and beat her up before officials from the Bariga Police Division intervened.
The mayhem followed through to Monday, where okada riders besieged the police station and demanded the corpses of two people who were killed in the accident.
According to a resident in the area, Iya Oyinbo, a brake failure seemed to have caused the deadly crash.
Dolapo Badmus, Police PR Officer, has confirmed the incident, saying the matter is under investigation and disclosing that the suspect is currently in a private facility, recovering from her injuries.
