Abuja - Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu has opened up about his innocence over alleged forging of Senate rules, Naij reported.

Ekweremadu states "My only offence is my emergence as Deputy Senate President, some people found it unacceptable and that is why I'm being charged."

He further states that he never committed any offence and no lawmaker of the Federal Republic of Nigeria accused him of such a crime because he was innocent.

According to a News24 report, both Saraki and Ekweremadu had appeared at the Abuja High Court for forgery charges.
