29 June 2016, 19:07

Abuja - An elderly man has lost his life after he drown in a flood in the Egor LGA of Edo State, Punch reports.

The deceased, identified as Osarobo Obayuwana, is alleged to have been attempting to cross an open drainage system when he tripped and was swept away by the flood last Friday.

A family member, Izekor Isoken, reported that the victim had lost his wife last year and lived with his mother and daughter at the time of his passing.

“We were all crying for help but no one came. He went to buy some food for his aged mother before he died while trying to cross over.

“If the drainage had been well done, the man would not have died. We have been abandoned with no good roads. We make payments but we do not get power supply,” said Isoken, according to Olisa.tv.
