Europe mourns Yola Boko Haram victims

19 November 2015, 15:07

Abuja - European Union (EU) has expressed solidarity with Nigeria following the deadly terror attacks in Yola, Adamawa State.

“Today (Wednesday), Nigeria is once again the target of terrorist violence,” said EU Spokesperson, Catherine Ray, after the attacks blamed on the Boko Haram.

“An attack on a market in Yola, capital of north eastern Adamawa state has killed over 30 people and wounded many more. The EU expresses its condolences with those who lost loved ones and recalls its full solidarity with the Nigerian government and people,” said Ray.

Ray pointed out the attack in Yola came only days after the attacks in Paris (France), Lebanon, Turkey and Egypt.

The EU official said these repeated acts of violence show we must work together in partnership on the fight against terrorism.

“The EU stands ready to step up its cooperation with Nigeria and the other countries in the region to fight terrorism in all its forms,” said Ray.
