Ex-Kogi governor's son arraigned for robbery

Abuja - The son of former governor of Kogi the late, Abubakar Audu, has been arrested by police for robbery and attempted culpable homicide, Punch reported.

Mohamamed Audu was arrested when he honoured the invitation of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad at the Police Headquarters in Lokoja.

Audu has been alleged to have committed the crime to his uncle, Yahaya Audu at their family house.

He has been charged with criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt, mischief, armed robbery and attempted culpable homicide.

In one incident, Yahaya told police that the family premises were entered by hoodlums who were armed with guns, cutlasses and axe.

The court has granted Audu bail of a sum of N100 000 and the case has been adjourned to later in September.
