Anamabra - An 18–seater bus manufactured from nothing by some ex-Niger Delta militants trained at Innoson Kiara Academy, a branch of Innoson Motor Manufacturing Company, Nnewi, Anambra state, is to be presented to President Muhammadu Buhari, Naij reports.
The bus is going to be presented to President Buhari through the president’s special adviser on Amnesty Programme, General Paul Boroh (rtd).
The presentation of the 18-seater vehicle to President Buhari was part of the graduation ceremony of 120 ex-Niger Delta militants at Innoson Motors, Nnewi.
The youths were trained for nine months in specialisations like auto mechanics, auto electrical, auto welding, auto painting and spraying, heavy duty truck maintenance, ICT, engineering drawing, entrepreneurial as well as interpersonal relationship.
News24 previously reported that the Presidential Amnesty Programme Coordinator, Paul Boroh had disclosed that five-hundred ex-militant youths from the Niger Delta will be trained in various agro-based skills according to News24.
This was announced during a graduation ceremony of ex-militants trainee' pilot scheme in Bayelsa State.
According to Boroh, some of the militants will sent to the Songhai Farms in Delta State where they will be trained in various agricultural programmes.
It has been stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari's led administration resolves to diversify the economy from oil and gas dependence.
