18 October 2016, 09:09Augustine Osayande

Abuja - Former Aviation Minister and spokesperson of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has slammed the detention of his wife, Precious Chikwendu, and baby by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for alleged fraud.

He reported his wife and eight-month-old son were illegally detained, brutalised and put under arrest on the orders of the EFCC at Access Bank in Ado Ekiti.

"This government is sick and cowardly and so are the EFCC," he said.

"If you have a problem with me face me and leave my family alone."

He said his travelled to Ado Ekiti to see a friend and brother, Governor Ayo Fayose, and his family when the violations began.

He said if not for the intervention of Governor Ayo Fayose they would have taken his family away and subjected them to all manner of harm and indignities, Fani-Kayode said.

"Had it not been for the governor’s intervention and presence the bank would have been burnt down by the crowd."

Fani-Kayode, who said his and wife’s bank accounts had been closed, hinted at suing the bank and EFCC.
