Abuja - Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has been stopped
by the Ekiti HHigh Court from building an airport in the state as it is
unconstitutional and ilegal, Punch reported.
The court also ordered the state to pay N5 million for
general damages as trees and crops were deconstructed for the building of the
Justice Dele Omotoso gave the judgement in court after the
state government was sued by farmers who the land belonged to.

The defendants, Fayose, Commissioner for Works, Commissioner
for Land and Housing, have beenrestrained the state government for forcibly
entering, trespassing and intimidating the landowners.
Further the court has restrained the defendants from further
removing harvest, clearing or damaging crops.
