FCT police gun down suspects

Abuja - Police patrol team from the Federal Capital Territory Command have shot dead a suspected armed robber and a bandit in two separate incidents.

According to a Police First Information Report (PFIR) obtained by CAJ News Africa, a suspected armed robber dressed in military uniform was killed along Tungan Maje Road, Zuba in Abuja.

“On 10th January 2016 at 05:55AM, Police patrol team ran into an armed robber road block along Tungan Maje Road, Zuba. A gun battle ensued and in the process one of the hoodlums dressed in military uniform was gunned down while the others fled into the bush,” the police report read.

No arrest was made while the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at University of Abuja Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The police report said investigations were in progress.

Meanwhile the police patrol team, while on patrol along Jadori Village also in Abuja, had an encounter with armed bandits that blocked the road.

One of the alleged bandits, Musa Adamu was killed, and an AK-47 rifle, 18 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and four cartridges were recovered from the suspect.

Investigations are also in progress.
