02 September 2016, 12:50

Lagos - The Federal Government, through its Asset Management Company (AMCON) is at this moment shopping for N2.4 billion as severance benefits of workers of Aero Contractors Airlines that had been asked to go on indefinite leave, reports New Telegraph.

The workers, who were asked  to go on indefinite leave on Tuesday have continued to barricade the airline’s headquarters at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos to ask for their severance benefits.

The indefinite leave for the workers and suspension of service by the airline according to News 24  are parts of the strategic business realignments to reposition the airline and return it to profitability.

The decision of AMCON to payoff the workers suggests that the airline may not come back or plans to start on a clean slate by employing fresh workers in its turnaround plans.
