Abuja - The Federal Government has announced its intention to encourage Nigerians to buy locally when purchasing goods as it looks to boost the economy, Vanguard reports.

This would in turn encourage producers to grow and develop which would strengthen the economy.
The Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, cited the manufacturing of vehicles in the country as an example of how Nigeria could be turned from a consumer country to one that produces its own products.
Onu also said that the government is now looking to ways to diversify and strengthen the economy of Nigeria.
