Abuja - Millions of Naira in property has been destroyed following a fire that gutted the Sapele Market on Friday night, Punch has reported.
The fire, which is suspected to have started due to high voltage, destroyed more than 200 shops as it spread through the market.
Local fire fighters fought hard to quell the blaze, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring residences.

Celestina Kalu, PR Officer for the State Police, confirmed the incident, describing it as painful and unfortunate.
The fire, unfortunately, could not be put out before the arrival of the State Fire Service.
