Four killed as MASSOB’s anniversary turns bloody

14 September 2016, 13:07

Owerri . No fewer than four people were allegedly shot dead on Tuesday during the  17th years anniversary of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), reports New Telegraph.

The dead were allegedly shot dead by a combined team of the army, police, civil defence and drug law enforcement agents along Onitsha/Owerri Road as members were marching through the streets to celebrate the event.

Trouble started when members of the group were accosted while approaching Enamel Ware Industry by a contingent of the joint task force who were fully armed.

The security operatives were alleged to have fired sporadically in the air to disperse the crowd.
