Four suspects nabbed over death of mother, daughter - PPRO

Enugu - Enugu State Police Command, has arrested four suspects in connection with the death of a mother and her daughter in Ijo-Ozalla, Igbo-Etiti local government area.

A statement by Ebere Amaraizu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said the suspects were assisting the command in unraveling the cause of their death and arrest other culprits.

"A woman identified as Uche Nweze and her daughter, Ukamaka Nweze from Ijo-Ozalla in Igboetiti local government area were said to have fallen into a well and died.

"Their corpses had been recovered and deposited in a mortuary for post mortem examination," the statement said.

In a related development, the Police said they have detained a suspect in Umulumgbe, Udi local government area for being in possession of a locally made double barrel pistol and three live cartridges.

According to the statement, members of Neighborhood Watch Group in the area arrested the suspect at a beer parlour with a gun which he handed over to them.

The statement appealed to the public to be security conscious, law abiding and partner with security agencies to secure the state.
