Abuja – Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has reportedly described Fulani herdsmen as “agents of the devil that must be finished out and punished accordingly".
According to This Day, Fayose warned government to caution the rampaging herdsmen, saying there could be reprisal attacks in his state if they did not stop attacking innocent people.
Fayose’s remarks came following the killing of at least two people in Ekiti on Friday by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
“I have directed the police and other security agencies in the State to fish out the killer herdsmen. I am in constant touch with the security agencies and I hope that the killer herdsmen will be fished out wherever they are and made to face the full wrath of the law,” Fayose was reported as saying in a statement.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) cited the governor as saying that he would not “fold” his arms while herdsmen invaded his state.
“I will not fold my hands while armed herdsmen invade communities in Ekiti, killing people and destroying farmlands at will, like they did in other states.
