Govern with the fear of God, pastor tells Nigeria leaders

10 May 2016, 09:30

Kaduna - Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has urged Nigerian leaders to govern with "the fear of God".

The flamboyant pastor said any leader who was ready to trail the path of God would not only lead successfully, but would imbue in followers and have the courage to continue the good job wherever they stopped, reported the Nation.

Adeboye said this in Kaduna, where he visited members of his ministry.

The pastor said: "What I will just advice our leaders is to work in the fear of God. Everyone knows what it is to fear God and good to understand that God is almighty. No matter how strong you think you are as a leader, God is stronger and powerful than you are and that is why if you want to succeed as a leader, fear God in all you do."

According to Punch, Adeboye also took aim at leaders oppressing the poor and downtrodden saying they will be judged.

“The kings that ruled successfully were the kings that ruled with the fear of God,” he was quoted as saying.
