Govt. is planning genocide against Ndigbo - IPOB

24 May 2016, 07:36

Abuja - The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has alleged that the Federal Government is putting plans in place to stage a genocide in the country's South-East.

According to the Daily Post, the statement came as a result of a demand made by a Northern group calling for Biafrans to be treated like Boko Haram.

The group has expressed its concern over the issue, claiming that similar statements led to the mass killing of Igbos in the 1960s.

IPOB has stated that the Northern group in question could not mention any specific attacks against Northerners in the South-East, claiming that not a date or place was giving to back up the allegations that were made against Biafra supporters.

“Resorting to manufacturing false allegation on Eastern region, in order to justify the mindless oppression, is a sure sign of cluelessness. Time is clearly running out,” read IPOB's statement in part.
