Abuja – The Nigerian army has fired a former Aide de Camp to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan; Colonel Ojogbane Adegbe; a former Principal Secretary to an ex -National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retired); Colonel Nicholas Achinze, a former ADC to the late President Umaru Yar’Adua, Brigadier General AH Sa’ad; and 57 other senior officers, Punch reported on Sunday.
This came as reports on Saturday indicated that dozens of senior army officers accused of corruption and the theft of billions of dollars meant to buy arms to fight the Boko Haram insurgency had been fired.
An officer privy to the list said more than 50 officers had been sacked.
A spokesperson for the army, Colonel Sani Kukesheka Usman was quoted as only saying that "quite a number" were sacked on Friday.
