Abuja - Several monarchs in the Ijebu LGA of Ogun State have alerted officials to the alleged raping of women in the area as well as destruction of farmlands at the hands of suspected Fulani herdsmen.
The Council of Obas in Ijebu-Igbo held its inaugural meeting on Thursday, taking a decision to investigate the activities of the herdsmen before they lose control over the situation, Punch reports.

The Obas stated that the destruction of land is imposing hardship on the area's residents, who are mainly farmers.
The monarchs also made note of the security threat that the herdsmen pose to the people of Ogun.
