Abuja - Ousted Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, Abdulmumin Jubrin said that allegations made by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo that the National Assembly was riddled by corruption were valid, Punch reports.

He went so far as to claim that the House of Representatives was a victim of institutional corruption while at the same time stating that he had never played any part in corrupt activities while in the National Assembly.

News24 Nigeria reported that Jibrin yesterday released pictures of the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara's guest house believed to be furnished from looted funds meant for legislative duties.

This is the latest in a series of damning revelations by Jibrin since his dismissal from the leadership of the Appropriation Committee earlier this month.

Investigations have also revealed that the impeachment process against Dogara has commenced. The Speaker has been accused of illegally inserting and allocating projects worth over N20 billion to their constituencies in the 2016 budget by the former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin.
