House orders IGP to fish out Abuja preacher's killers

13 July 2016, 13:18

Abuja - The House of Representatives has directed Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris to ensure a thorough investigation of the killing of a preacher, Eunice Elisha Olawale.

The late Eunice Olawale was murdered at about 5:30a.m. on Saturday at Pipeline, Kubwa, Abuja, as she went for early morning preaching close to her residence.

Her throat was slit, with her head rested on the bible she used for preaching.

The lawmakers also urged the IGP to ensure that perpetrators of the heinous crime are brought to book.

The police on Sunday announced the arrest of six suspects.

The resolution of the House followed a motion of urgent national importance by a member, Hon. Babatunde Gabriel Kolawole (APC Ondo).

Speaker Yakubu Dogara called for a vote on the motion, it was overwhelmingly supported by members.

The lawmakers thereafter observed a minute-silence for the late Olawale.

The General Overseer, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to the family of Eunice Olawale, who was murdered while preaching in Kubwa, a satellite town in Abuja.

Adeboye and his entourage according to News24 visited the family at their Gbazango Estate, Kubwa residence around 6am.
