Ikpeazu's kinsmen expose plot to set Abia State ablaze

08 July 2016, 09:44

Abuja - The Supreme Council of Ukwa-Ngwa Youths, a youth body in Abia State, has made light of an alleged plot to set the state ablaze, Naij reports.

While defending the mandate of State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, the group claimed that they would use their last blood to ensure that their leader remains in power.

According to Kingsley Okadigbo, the group's national co-ordinator, Ikpeazu is the first Governor of Ukwa-Ngwa extraction and the youths hope to keep it that way.

Calling on President Buhari's intervention in the matter, the group described the "hurried" issuance of the Certificate of Return to Ogah on June 30 as a "rape to democracy".

The youth has since passed a vote of confidence in Ikpeazu, insinuating that turmoil will hit the state if Ikpeazu is removed, Punch reports.
