Inspector loses life after falling off a speeding bus

Lagos - A police inspector, Stephen Nzerem, was killed when he fell off a speeding commercial bus on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in Lagos state, Punch reports.

The police team which the deceased belongs to was said to have the flagged the bus down with the aim of going on an operation with it, but the driver refused to stop.

The deceased was said to have jumped on the speeding bus to arrest the driver but fell off the bus after the driver suddenly slammed the brake when another vehicle ran across his path.

The deceased along the conductor of the bus were said to have been flunged off the bus but it was only the inspector that died after his skull was slammed against an oncoming truck.

The police have arrested the 40-year-old driver, Moshood Ekunsumi, for allegedly killing a police inspector while the conductor is still at large.
