IPOB elders lash out at MASSOB, Niger Delta Avengers

30 June 2016, 07:33

Abuja - The Supreme Council of Elders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has lambasted members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) for threatening peace in the country, Naij reports.

Following their pledge of allegiance to militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers, the two groups vowed to support each other's activities, much to the dismay of some veteran pro-Biafrans.

The IPOB elders lashed out at the two groups, condemning their activities and warning them of the dangers of war.

Dr. Dozie Ikedife, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council, claimed that he witnessed the slaughter of millions of Igbos during Nigeria's civil war and does not resort any violent activity as a result.

The elderly leader has called for patience among citizens while assuring Nigerians that the economic situation in the country will get better with time.
